Sky Eye in Sky Ranch Tagaytay was dubbed as the tallest Ferris wheel in the Philippines prior to the completion of Pampanga Eye and because of Tagaytay's accessibility from Manila, this place has become a new favorite getaway of the weekend warriors especially those who already have kids.

Fair number of theme park rides and could cater to customers of all ages. Service: 2/5, The security is unable to control the number of people during peak season, especially when we went there last Christmas season. Long queue on rides during the Holidays.

The Place
Obviously, this theme park is the tallest in the country, being 2,000 feet above sea level. Its location in Tagaytay offers one of the best views of The Taal Volcano. The whole park itself is kinda cramped, though, and it gets crowded easily, especially during the Holidays. We went here one time during the tail-end of last Christmas season and the experience was exhausting. From Sta. Rosa, Laguna, the usual drive up here is less than an hour, but during that Holiday season, it took us two hours to get here.
Expect large crowds during holidays or even some weekends. |
Once you enter the park, my advise is to get to the part where you can view the Taal Volcano and take a deep breath. The mountain air here is cool and relaxing. For me, this is the big difference from the other theme parks in the country. It's kinda like a theme park with mother nature because of its location up in the mountain, the smell of horses at the horseback riding site, and the majestic view of the crater lake. The place is also generally clean despite the crowd. There's an area with artificial grass made with some soft plastic material where people just sit or lie down as we do on picnic grounds.
The Rides
The most popular attraction here is, of course, the Sky Eye. Equipped with 32 air-conditioned gondolas, and can seat 4 people each. It's a shame the gondolas' windows were not that clear when we visited, though, maybe it was because of the fog.A ride on the Sky Eye costs 150 Php, kids have to be accompanied by an adult. The ride lasts for around 10-15 minutes, basically you just go one spin on the wheel. You go up and the ride finishes when your gondola goes back down to the platform.
For teens and adults, there's Super Viking, Sky Cruiser, Nessi Coaster, Top Dancer, Riding Loop and a zipline.
For kids and tweens, there's Mini Viking, Express Train, Wonder Flight, Flying Bus, Red Baron, Snail Attack, Jump Around, Grand Carousel, Bubble-o-fun,
There are also attractions to come soon, such as: Log Coaster, CityRail Train, Bumper Race Challenger, Dream High, Boat Parade, and Wave Swinger.
Tips for Wandering Peasants
- the place gets crowded on long weekends, or holidays. Go during the weekdays if you want to avoid large crowds
- if the parking lot is full, there are more parking space at the opposite side of the street at the Casino Filipino side
- there are food stalls inside for cheap eats
